We design optical sensors with FPGA computing power for high-speed inspection. In our designs, raw data from the optical sensors are captured by a FPGA directly, then transferred into analysis IP cores in the same FPGA, and the results were sent to a microcontroller to interface with users. Synchronized illumination sources and automation control signals are generated by the same FPGA. This enable us to deliver sensors with extremely low-latency, very flexible architecture, low power consumption, and long-term reliability.

Glasstube Inline Inspection System

This is a fully automated inline equipment to measure glass tube OD,ID, and to detect scratches. It integrates multiple senosrs, an air-bearing stage, a feeding module, and a sorting system. The tool has been used for daily production at a major glasstube manufacturer since 2015.

OD /ID repeatability:  5 μm
Scratch sensitivity: 1 mm
Inspection speed: 1800 tubes/hour
Feeding module capacity:     1000 tubes

Profile Vision Sensor

This sensor was designed as a real-time inline feedback for precision fluid dispensing process. It also founds applications in measuring surface profile and micro structure dimensions.

measurement range:    10-100 μm
height sensitivity: 1 μm
field-of-view width: 500 μm
profile points #: 600
